Consumer Reports released its survey of the best ice cream today, and old favorites like Ben and Jerry's and Haagen-Dazs chocolate and vanilla ice creams scored well.
But a surprise pick is the Archer Farms Belgian chocolate from Target.
"This ice cream had an intense, complex chocolate flavor enhanced with bits of dark chocolate flecks. And costs just a fraction of what you'll pay for Haagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry's," Erin Gudeux from Consumer Reports said.
Breyer's extra creamy vanilla was also rated very good for both taste and value.
