Bay Area aid activist considers flotilla a success

SAN FRANCISCO

Paul Larudee, of the Free Palestine movement, says he was badly beaten during the raid when he refused to cooperate.

He told ABC7 by telephone that the mission was a success, despite the tragic circumstances and the fact the humanitarian aid never made it to Gaza.

"I am encouraged that people and so many people in the United States care about what happened," he said.

Thursday, the Israeli government again rejected calls for an independent investigation of the incident, but officials offered to ease the blockade of Gaza, if an international force was brought in to monitor the ports there.
