Victims of home invasion robbery were targeted

SAN JOSE, CA

Between six and 10 people broke into a home in the 300 block of Fuller Avenue at about 5 a.m., Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.

He said the suspects came in through a door, used shoestrings to tie up the family of four -- including two children -- and fled with numerous electronics in a large car.

The family suffered minor injuries but were not transported to a hospital, Lopez said.

He said the suspects were armed with guns, but no shots were fired.

A preliminary investigation indicates there is a connection between the suspects and the family, according to Lopez.

"At this time it appears that this was not a random act and that the family was targeted," he said. "We're not working any cases similar to this one with the similar suspects and descriptions in the San Jose area."

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact the Police Department's robbery unit at (408) 277-4166.
