Mothers of 3 Iran hikers issue new appeal

The mothers of three U.C. Berkeley graduate students, being held in Iran, issued a new appeal for their release on Wednesday.

In a letter to Iran's supreme leader, they called on Iran to "?bring the cruel injustice of their continued detention to an end," by either putting them on trial, or setting them free.

Wednesday marks 11 months since Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd, and Josh Fattal were taken into custody.

They're being held on espionage charges, for illegally crossing the border last July.

Their families claim they were just hiking.
