The oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico has inspired a new video game.

The Xbox 360 game, called "Crisis in the Gulf," begins when an oil rig explodes. Players place weapons in the ocean to try to shoot down globs of oil.

It is one of the independent video games available for $1 on Xbox's online service. The game's developer says it is not meant to make fun of the crisis, but to give players a way to blow off steam.
