At about 10:55 a.m., CHP officers responded to the eastbound I-580 off-ramp at Fruitvale Avenue, where a woman was hit by a gray Mazda Protege, Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
The woman complained of pain to her left knee, and within minutes was transported by an ambulance to Highland Hospital, Eckhardt said.
The woman's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, he said.
