3 teens arrested for park vandalism

LOS GATOS, CA

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police officers discovered freshly painted graffiti on buildings and paved walkways at Blossom Hill Park, located at 16300 Blossom Hill Road, early the morning of June 29.

Witnesses reported that three young men had spray-painted graffiti at the park and then fled, according to police.

An officer stopped a car driving away from the park and saw the occupants had fresh paint on their hands. In the car, the officer found used cans of spray paint and a notebook containing graffiti tag designs resembling those painted in the park, police said.

The officer arrested the three suspects after they admitted to the vandalism, police said. Two 17-year-old boys, one from Los Gatos and the other from San Jose, were cited and later released to their parents. The third suspect, 18-year-old Adam Berkowitz, of Los Gatos, was given a citation for vandalism and released as well.

Investigators are working to determine if the vandalism at Blossom Hill Park is connected to graffiti found in other nearby cities. If that is the case, additional vandalism charges could be brought against the suspects, police said.
