About ABC7 Top Scholars:

ABC7 Top Scholars highlights the best and brightest high school seniors in the Bay Area.

Six outstanding Bay Area students who exhibited exemplary skills in presentation, writing, and leadership have been awarded a $1,000 scholarship toward college education and will be featured profile in a special half-hour show (ABC 7 Top Scholars).

The project is intended to promote academic excellence by honoring and rewarding our top achievers. Invitations to participate in the ABC7 Top Scholars program were sent to hundreds of schools throughout the Bay Area.

Each school was allowed to nominate up to four students to participate.

Once nominated, each student filled out the Student Application, due to ABC7 no later that 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Applications were reviewed by a panel of judges, comprised of ABC7 representatives and several community members. Winners were informed in late April 2010.

On Sunday, July 25 at 10 a.m., watch a special half-hour of ABC7 Top Scholars, featuring the stories of all six of our winners.
