The San Francisco Examiner reports that a vacant lot on Octavia Street between Hayes and Linden Streets is being considered.
It's one of several lots left vacant after a portion of the central freeway was demolished a decade ago.
Eight by 20 foot shipping containers would be ventilated, connected to electric and water hookups and used as eateries and art galleries.
A nearby German-themed restaurant plans to operate a beer garden at the site.
