Motorcyclist Tasered after resisting arrest

CONCORD, CA

An officer attempted to pull over the motorcyclist at about 7 p.m. in the area of Olivera Road and Port Chicago Highway.

The motorcyclist, 34-year-old Darrell Nunally, did not stop right away, but then he pulled into the parking lot of an apartment complex, Lardieri said.

The officer tried to detain Nunally, but he allegedly refused to cooperate with the officer's commands, Lardieri said.

The officer called for backup and additional officers came to the parking lot. The officers struggled with Nunally and eventually used a Taser stun gun to subdue him.

One officer sustained minor injuries during the struggle. He was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.

Nunally was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, Lardieri said.
