Belmont police have arrested a high profile homeless woman who had been camping on a street corner for over a month.

Estrella Benavides' campsite was at the corner of El Camino and Ralston Avenue. It took up 40 feet of space and was decorated with hard to decipher messages.

Last Friday, the 50-year-old was arrested and charged with nine counts of violating Belmont's encroachment ordinance, and is being held on $65,000 bail.

Police also impounded all her property and they said their goal is to get help for her.
