Job fair held in San Francisco

The HIREvent at Hotel Whitcomb featured 10 different employers.

There were more than 2,200 border guard positions available and 1,000 jobs with the Peace Corps.

Aflac, Lens Crafters, Burger King, Ross, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, were also hiring.

"I think having the job you kind of realize that you're in that place where you're comfy and cozy and when you don't have the job any more you realize how much you might have taken it for granted," said job seeker Caine Horr.

Job seeker Percival Arcibal says he has been out of work for over a year now and says searching for a job is tough be he is getting a lot of help from family and friends.

The nation's jobless rate stands at nearly 10 percent. In California, it's more than 12 percent.

The next HIREvent takes place October 26th in San Mateo.
