Local, state and federal authorities showed off a cache of weapons, drugs and cash seized in Operation Southern Exposure. The crackdown resulted in 42 arrests.
Officials say the success of the operation shows what can happen when agencies work together.
"By pooling our resources, our intelligence, our expertise, we've taken some very dangerous people, weapons and drugs off the streets of this community," said Joe Vincent with the Department of Homeland Security.
Key players in the operation included the Santa Cruz Police gang unit and the countywide anti-crime team. Santa Cruz's interim police chief called the effort the first step in an ongoing effort to make the streets safer.
