The woman in room 10 of the delivery unit at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara gave birth today at 10:10 a.m.

The numbers are notable, of course, because of the date is 10/10/2010.

In Indianapolis, a baby was also born at 10:10 Sunday morning. He wasn't due until the 20th, which means he was 10 days early. We don't know the baby's weight but it was not 10 pounds 10 ounces.

Also blend of superstition and symbolism made Sunday a popular day to get married. Mass weddings took place around the world from Seoul, South Korea to Sydney, Australia. According to David's Bridal, the number of U.S. weddings scheduled on Sunday was about 10 times that of the same weekend last year.

The number 10 is considered a symbol of perfection. Bride's Magazine calls today's date "a perfect 10, times three."

10/10 day is a national day of celebration in Taiwan.

It is also San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom's 43rd birthday.
