2010 November Election Information

Calif. voter registration deadline for Nov. 2 election: October 18, 2010
Your registration must be postmarked no later than Monday, October 18.

Register to vote:

Election Day hours:
On Election Day polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on election night.

Vote by mail information:
www.sos.ca.gov/elections
Additional postage is required when returning your vote by mail ballot for the Nov. 2 General election. An estimated minimum 78 cents postage is needed.

Last day to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot by mail: October 26, 2010
Registered voters may apply for a vote-by-mail ballot for an upcoming election at any time. If you apply by mail, your application must be received no later than 7 days before an election, otherwise you will need to apply in person to get a vote-by-mail ballot for that election.

Be a poll worker:

Alameda County is looking for poll workers to assist in the Nov. 2 election, especially in the cities of Berkeley and Oakland. To serve as a poll worker, an applicant must be a registered voter. High school students 16 years of age or older are also eligible to serve as poll workers. Students must be in good academic standing and receive school permission in advance. Those interested in working at the polls can obtain more information or an application by visiting www.acgov.org/rov/workers or by calling (510) 272-6971.
