Just before 1 p.m., crews from the Windsor Fire District, Healdsburg Fire Department, and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office responded to Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach, where the kayakers were stranded just below the Memorial Bridge.
Using a helicopter from the sheriff's office, rescuers quickly located the kayakers -- a man and a woman -- and retrieved the woman, according to the fire department.
A water rescue team rescued the man from the river.
