Heavy rains cause problems across Bay Area

COTATI, CA

In the North Bay, there was about a foot of standing water on Highway 116 in Cotati Sunday evening.

In Sebastopol, a huge oak tree crashed down onto a house on Ramondo Drive Sunday morning. It hit an empty back bedroom. All four adults who were in the house at the time are fine.

"At first, I thought it was a really loud thunder, like a really long loud thunder, and then it sounded like an earthquake," Sara Morency told ABC7.

On the Peninsula, PG&E crews worked to fix a downed power line that got caught in some trees on 17th Avenue in San Mateo.

Busy traffic conditions on El Camino Real served as a good reminder for drivers to slow down in the rainy weather and pay attention.
