Firefighters say four apartments were destroyed and several others damaged in the fire that broke out around 2:30 Sunday morning.
One woman in a second-floor apartment suffered burns and is being treated at a local hospital. One resident says they had just been outside and everything seemed normal then minutes later the complex was burning.
"Smoke billowing out, fire and everything," he recalled. "And, I went, 'Wow,' grabbed everything that I could and got out of there.'
He was not sure yet what all he had lost in the fire, but said everything he owns was inside his apartment.
Building inspectors hope to know within 24 hours how many units are still safe enough to live in. Investigators are also working to determine just how the fire got started.
