Oakland shooting triggers crash and gas leak

November 8, 2010 7:13:14 AM PST
A handful of people in Oakland have been evacuated from their home after a shooting that caused a gas leak early Monday morning.

Just before 1:30 a man was found shot in a car on the 3100 block of High Street. Investigators say the man's car managed to roll onto the front lawn of a home and appears to have hit a gas main, causing the leak.

Neighbors were evacuated and are being sheltered in a nearby AC Transit bus.

PG&E has been on the scene and the leak has been capped.

The shot man was taken to a nearby hospital in grave condition.

The shooting is the sixth in just the last three days. Those shootings have killed at least three people, including a teenage boy.
