'Fajita Gate' SFPD chief Alex Fagan dies

SAN FRANCISCO

The police department says he had a heart attack while walking his dog in London, where his wife is an official at the American Embassy.

In 2002, Fagan was assistant police chief when his police officer son was accused of roughing up a man and stealing his Mexican take-out.

Fagan Sr. ended up being among several top department brass accused of trying to cover up the crime. Still he became police chief during the investigation and resigned in 2004.
