David Lewis was killed after a confrontation with someone in the Nordstrom's parking lot in June. San Mateo police detectives have not solved the case.
The 54-year-old man was a former drug addict and a community leader who founded Free at Last in East Palo Alto -- a non-profit organization that helps people with substance abuse problems.
