Thirty-one-year-old Olivier Chalouhi paid a little over $33,000 for his electric car.
State and federal rebates to encourage people to buy electric cars will bring the price down to $20,000.
Chalouhi says he will use the car for the 20-mile round trip to his office. The car gets about 100 miles per charge.
