Group: High levels of cancer toxin in SJ water

An environmental watch dog says the city of San Jose has one of the highest levels in the nation of a cancer causing toxin in its drinking water.The Environmental Working Group study found 31 out of 35 cities tested had the presence of hexavalent chromium. San Jose had the fifth highest levels detected -- trailing Norman, Oklahoma, Honolulu, Hawaii, Riverside, and Madison, Wisconsin. The study comes as the Environmental Protection Agency considers implementing a national standard for hexavalent chromium in tap water.
