The presents have been unwrapped. Now droves of people are heading back to the stores to return what they don't want and look for bargains on those things they asked for, but didn't get. One of the hottest items is HDTVs. But which one? Good Housekeeping helps you sort out the good from the bad.

HDTV's have come down in price as their popularity keeps growing.

"We evaluated 24 HD televisions for picture and audio quality, remote control use and features," said Jaz Radoncic of Good Housekeeping.

Vizio topped the list in the 32 inch category for best value with excellent picture quality. The pricier Samsung gets kudos for its self dimmer. The set automatically adjust light levels for better picture quality in low light.

"Among larger televisions we tested this Vizio 47 inch LED TV which provides great picture and is full of features such as internet. To make your internet browsing easier, it includes this remote control that doubles as a key board," said Radoncic.

LG also tested well in the 47 inch category. It includes a set up wizard that walks you through setting up your TV for picture quality. Want even bigger, then check out a 55 inch television from LG. It had excellent picture quality, great ease of use and a high dynamic contrast ratio.

Remember the larger the HDTV, the more important the quality of the screen. Be sure to take a good look at the store before taking it home.
