Lawsuit claims Apple transmitting personal info

A new lawsuit claims applications for the company's iPhone and iPad are transmitting users' personal information to advertisers without the customers consent.

The suit, filed last week in federal court in San Jose - contends that iPhones and iPads are encoded with identifying devices that allow advertising networks to track what apps users download, how frequently they're used and for how long.

ABC7 News has not been able to reach an Apple representative for comment.
