Hippo makes debut at San Francisco Zoo

The San Francisco Zoo has the perfect new resident to fill one of its empty exhibits.

An 8-year-old male hippopotamus met the public for the first time Friday.

The 3,700-pound hippo is a gift from the Topeka Kansas Zoo. It didn't have room for him. It is the first hippo at San Francisco Zoo in three years because the exhibit was being renovated.

He does not yet have a name; the zoo plans to have the public help pick one soon.
