Study links Facebook to eating disorders in teens

Israeli researchers found the more time teen girls spent on Facebook, the higher their chances of developing eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia.

The study, done at the University of Haifa, says girls who spent a lot of time on Facebook have a negative self-image and tend to crash diet. This is similar to links found between watching TV and eating disorders.

Researchers say parents need to monitor their girls' Internet habits.
