Outdoor WiFi may soon be coming to Palo Alto

PALO ALTO, Calif.

The telecommunications company is proposing free WiFi along several blocks of university avenue. it's part of the company's effort to boost service where people gather outside.

AT&T wants to install antennas on a balcony of the Hotel President on University Avenue. The company has just two" outdoor WiFi networks – one in New York City's Times Square and the other along a stretch of the Embarcadero in San Francisco.

t The Palo Alto City Council will consider the proposal next week.
