Study: Many workers don't like calling in sick

A survey by Account Temps found 76 percent of employees admit they often go in to work even when they feel sick. The reasons are because they don't want to fall behind, or burden co-workers who must cover for them.

However, the same survey found one third of their co-workers wish they'd just stay in bed, so they won't spread the illness. And most said their bosses don't encourage coming in sick.
