Sales taxes are about to go up in several Bay Area city cities. Starting April 1, El Cerrito and Union City residents will see their sales tax increase from 9.75 percent to 10.25 percent.

The sales tax will also jump a half a percent in Concord and Novato to 9.75 and 9.5 respectively.

San Leandro's tax rate will go up a quarter of a percent.

Voters approved the rate hikes last fall.
