Two injured in separate shootings in Vallejo

VALLEJO, Calif.

In the first, a 22-year-old San Francisco man was shot three times in the shoulder and once in the back of the head at about 5:20 p.m. in the 300 block of Amelia Street, Sgt. Jeff Bassett said.

The victim's wounds are not life-threatening, and he was taken to Sutter Solano Medical Center, Bassett said.

The victim said he was in the neighborhood "to buy weed," Bassett said. Police do not yet have a detailed description of the shooter.

Investigators recovered casings and bullet fragments from a small-caliber handgun at the scene, Bassett said.

The second shooting happened at about 9:45 p.m. during a disturbance in front of a home in the 900 block of Cronin Drive, Bassett said.

A 54-year-old man who lives in that block suffered two gunshot wounds to the head and was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, Bassett said.

He is in the hospital's intensive care today, Bassett said.

Police have identified a possible suspect they believe had some type of relationship with the victim, Bassett said.
