LAKE TAHOE --Ski areas in the Sierra reported another four feet of snow on top of the 50-foot snowfall they've received this season. The National Forest Service says avalanche danger is considerable. That means natural avalanches are possible. Human-triggered avalanches are also likely.
Chains are required on I-80 from Placer County to the Donner Lake interchange. No chain controls on Highway 50, but there is a high wind advisory from Sacramento to the El Dorado County line.
