Whale responsible for trainer's death performing again

ORLANDO, FL

Tilikum has not performed since dragging 40-year-old Dawn Brancheau to the bottom of the pool last February and holding her there until she drowned as spectators watched in horror. Tilikum has been connected to the death of three humans.

SeaWorld officials say returning to the shows is important for Tilikum's physical, social, and mental enrichment. But, animal rights activists disagree.

To protect trainers, SeaWorld says it's building fast rising false bottom floors - capable of lifting whales and trainers out of the water in an emergency.
