The American Red Cross helped eight people find a place to stay Friday night after a three-alarm fire drove them from their homes in San Francisco's Mission District.

The fire broke out around 4:15 p.m. in a large Victorian home that had been split into smaller units.

The flames spread to two, adjoining buildings on Capp Street near 20th.

Nobody was hurt.

Investigators have just started the process of figuring out what sparked the fire.
