Seniors worry lunch program may be cut

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Seniors and elected officials will meet Monday night to lay out specifics on future funding for the senior nutrition program. According to city officials, it is the only good meal many seniors who go there get all day and without it their health could deteriorate.

San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed supports continued funding for the program, however the city is facing $115 million shortfall.

Monday night's meeting will look at what can be scaled down or cut entirely.
