Fire crews responded to the Parkside Apartments complex in the 900 block of 143rd Avenue around 8:15 a.m. after a car ran into the building's utilities unit, Alameda County fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.
By 9 a.m. all utilities had been secured, but as a precaution firefighters evacuated adjacent apartment units, Knowles said.
No injures have been reported.
Firefighters are still at the apartment complex with San Leandro police investigating the crash, Knowles said.
