Snacking may contribute to Americans' obesity

Researchers think they've found the reason why Americans have steadily grown fatter over the last 30 years.

A University of North Carolina study says snacking is the number one reason we've become bigger.

The study found that Americans have gone from eating nearly four meals and snacks a day to nearly five, a 29 percent increase

The average American adult eats about 2,400 calories a day, nearly one-third more than we ate in the late 1970s.
