New Bay Area public transit prices go into effect

SAN FRANCISCO

In San Francisco, Muni passengers are paying $2 more to buy a monthly adult Fast Pass and $1 more for passes for youths, seniors, disabled and low-income riders. The cost of getting on a cable car also went up $1 to $6 per trip.

Caltrain commuters are paying 25 cents more for a one-way fare. Daily parking costs an $1 and monthly parking is $10 more.

Stickers will no longer give drivers of hybrid vehicles a free pass into carpool lanes when they drive solo.

Finally, tolls will go up on all Bay Area bridges for truckers, vehicles pulling trailers, and any vehicle with three or more axles.
