Three arrested for vandalism in S. San Francisco

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.

When officers arrived at the park, located at 5 Appian Way, around 1:30 a.m., police found blue and green spray paint covering the walls of the maintenance supply room and restrooms. Officers saw six juveniles running away from the park.

Police found the group of teens -- all 16 and 17 years old -- at a nearby apartment complex, where they were detained, police said.

After further investigation, police suspected three were responsible for defacing the walls with graffiti and burglarizing the supply room, police said.

The three teens were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, felony vandalism and resisting arrest, before they were later released to their parents, according to police.

South San Francisco police are not identifying the suspects because they are juveniles.

The value of the damage to the supply room's exterior walls and restroom walls is estimated to be about $1,000, police said.
