Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Guerneville late Wednesday afternoon.

Kevin Payne, 22, was booked into Sonoma County Jail early this morning on suspicion of murder and James Lewis, 35, was booked on a charge of being an accessory to murder, a jail employee said.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Friday afternoon.

The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified the victim as 31-year-old Elijah Lockhart, of Sebastopol.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a fight involving five or six men on a pedestrian bridge in Guerneville around 5:10 p.m., Lt. Tim Duke said.

Lockhart died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, according to the sheriff's office.
