Some Countrywide customers will get money back

If you had a home loan serviced by Countrywide Financial, you may have some money coming to you. More than 450,000 former Countrywide customers will be receiving refunds together worth $108 million.

The Federal Trade Commission says Countrywide was charging excessive fees to homeowners struggling to keep their homes.

The fees were for services such as landscaping and property inspections. Now, customers will get refunds ranging from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars each.

Former Countrywide customers with questions should call the redress administrator, Gilardi & Co., LLC at 1-888-230-3196 or visit the FTC's Countrywide settlement webpage.
