Critics bothered by McDonald's Olympic-sized plans

LONDON

The largest McDonald's in the world will open in London to coincide with the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The restaurant will be able to hold 1,500 people in a two-story building in the heart of the Olympic village.

Three other McDonald's restaurants will open up at the Olympic site.

Critics say fast food contradicts the Olympic values of health, fitness and endurance, citing the high fat and sodium content found within McDonald's popular food items.

McDonald's says they do offer menu items that promote a healthy lifestyle.

McDonald's has sponsored the Summer Olympic Games for several years.
