Pedestrian hit by big-rig on I-280 in San Jose

SAN JOSE

Witnesses said the pedestrian seemed to be running against traffic on purpose when he was hit at about 12:05 p.m. just north of South 10th Street, but the CHP has not been able to confirm whether the collision was intentional, Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center, Bartlett said.

The CHP shut down two southbound lanes at about 12:23 p.m., and one lane remained closed as of about 1 p.m. A Sig-alert has been issued in the area.
