KABC reporter shot in hand during live report

LOS ANGELES

Weather reporter Leanne Suter was shot in the hand with a pellet from a BB gun during her live weather report in Fontana, which is about an hour from Los Angeles.

Suter was taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be doing okay.

A statement released by KABC-TV General Manager Arnold Kleiner said the station is cooperating with law enforcement.

"Our crews and reporters are very conscious of good safety practices and take proper precautions when on assignment," Kleiner said.

Kleiner said the station was "grateful no one was seriously hurt." The Los Angeles Times reported two teens were arrested in connection with the shooting.

Suter has worked for KABC since 2003.
