Richmond Arts Center provides oasis for students

RICHMOND, Calif.

The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts serves more than 2,000 young people each year. Here they learn to find out about themselves through dance, acting, music, and art.

It is truly a work of love for the people who run the place. In the so-called "Iron Triangle" is an oasis for creativity.

The students really have to be committed to this. No slackers here. Even more remarkable is that they took an old run down building and created a showplace for talent.

It was re-done with $16 million in private and public funds. They are planning a showcase of programs for the public in October.
