An Irish gaelic football star, critically injured during a game in San Francisco, was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

Mark McGovern, 22, was discharged in the morning and will be going to a rehabilitation center.

He came to San Francisco to play for a club in the Bay Area this summer. During a game on June 25th McGovern mysteriously collapsed and fell into a coma. His team thinks he was hit by an opposing player, but no one saw what happened.

Police are investigating the incident.
