Muni may terminate dozens of unlicensed operators

SAN FRANCISCO

The San Francisco Examiner reports that some of the Muni operators have been without a valid license for two years. Despite the threat of termination, none have been fired. But the new Muni contract imposed in June gives the transit agency much more leeway in the issue. Of the 48 operators without licenses, some have let them lapse, some of the licenses have been suspended due to off-duty DUI's, while others involve medical clearance issues.
