3 arrested for drugs during traffic stops in Marin Co.

A CHP officer stopped the driver of a 1989 Jeep Comanche for a carpool violation on northbound U.S. Highway 101 just south of Nave Drive around 5:50 p.m., CHP Officer Chris Rardin said.

The officer determined 52-year-old Stewart Hepburn of San Francisco was driving under the influence and was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, Rardin said.

During a search of the Jeep, the officer also found drug paraphernalia and high-power ammunition, Rardin said.

Hepburn was arrested on suspicion of DUI, being a felon in possession of ammunition and drug possession, Rardin said.

Then at about 11:45 p.m., CHP officers noticed the driver of a 2010 Honda Insight showing signs of impairment by failing to maintain his lane and speed on southbound Highway 101 north of Atherton Avenue, Rardin said.

Andre Mouton, 26, of San Francisco, exited the freeway and stopped at the Shell gas station on Entrada Drive and Enfrente Road, Rardin said.

Officers smelled marijuana and found approximately seven pounds of marijuana and $1,800 in cash when they searched the Honda, Rardin said.

Mouton was also found to have $1,196 in cash and his passenger, Maxwell McKenna, 21, of San Francisco, had a small glass pipe, Rardin said.

Both men were arrested for possession of marijuana for sales and transportation of marijuana, Rardin said. Mouton also was arrested for driving on a suspended license.
