The accident happened around 2:20pm on Main at Dallas.
According to a METRO spokesperson, the woman was crossing in front of a northbound train when she was hit.
She was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with fractured ribs and injuries to her pelvis. Her name was not released.
The METRO light rail was shut down for about an hour while police were at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
