Two gas leaks pinched off in Alameda County

ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif.

PG&E said a third party dig struck a 3 quarter inch steel service line on Bay Farm Island at 9:05 a.m.. Several condos were evacuated on Mecartney and Fontana. A shelter-in-place was ordered for Amelia Earhart Elementary School.

Another gas leak occurred on Johnson in downtown Alameda. PG&E said a third party dig caused the gas line to be breached. PG&E were able to pinch off the leak quickly. Three homes were temporarily evacuated for the leak.

All evacuation orders and the shelter-in-place were lifted for both gas leaks.
